By Staff report

The Dodgers had the best home record in baseball this season at 57-25, and they improved to 5-0 at Dodger Stadium in the postseason with Tuesday’s 3-1 win in the World Series opener.

It’s now up to ALCS MVP Justin Verlander to help the Astros try to steal a game on the road before the series shifts to Houston for Games 3, 4 and 5, if necessary.

He might be up to the task. Since joining the Astros in August, he’s gone 9-0 with a 1.05 ERA and 0.66 WHIP in eight starts and one relief appearance.

In three career World Series starts, he’s 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA.
