Worker injured by falling conveyor belt system

A worker at an industrial repair facility was injured Friday, Jan. 12 when a conveyor belt system fell on him, the Riverside Fire Department reported.

Firefighters responded to Quality Industry Repairs in the 5900 block of Ordway around 3 p.m., to find the unidentified man being treated by AMR paramedics after he was freed by co-workers, according to a news release from the department.

The man complained of injuries to his ankle and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

The incident occurred when a large metal conveyor belt system fell off a forklift and onto the man’s legs and feet while being moved, the fire department said. CAL-OSHA was notified of the incident.
