Woman reported shot; Ramona Expressway closed in San Jacinto for investigation

Ramona Expressway was closed between Bridge Street and Sanderson Avenue in both directions Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3, for a Riverside County sheriff’s investigation into a shooting.

Warren Road from Upperline Avenue to Ramona Expressway was also closed in both directions.

According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, sheriff’s deputies found a woman in a vehicle who had been shot. The vehicle had bullet holes, the log stated.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded to a request for medical aid in the area at 11:51 a.m., according to its incident log. Spokeswoman April Newman referred questions about what Cal Fire crews did at the scene to the Sheriff’s Department.
