Carol Donnelly lets police officers know they’re appreciated by citing them.

Oh, the irony.

For years the longtime San Bernardino resident has done positive things for law enforcement, from paying for their meals at restaurants to handing out gratitude packets that include a “Thank you” citation, a Starbucks gift card and a Lottery Scratcher.

Thursday, Donnelly cited officers Nathaniel Guzman and Michael Taylor for their service.

“They help us when they can,” she said, “we should help them when we can.”
