I’ve often thought this job would someday send me over the edge.

On Friday, July 14, it did — but the edge was literal rather than proverbial.

To help raise money for programs that serve veterans, Riverside’s Habitat for Humanity chapter offered people the chance to rappel 123 feet down the seven-story Riverside City Hall.

And since I’ve been just about everywhere else in the building but never dangled from it by a rope, I vowed to rise to the challenge.
