USC update: The Trojans are clear favorites in the Pac-12 South. Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate led four consecutive touchdown drives, tying the score at 35, before he was intercepted twice in the fourth quarter. … The Trojans are aiming for their second division title in three seasons, as the Buffaloes captured the Pac-12 South last season, stumbling only once in conference play — a 21-17 loss to USC in October, in quarterback Sam Darnold’s third start.
Colorado’s last game: The Buffaloes had a 10-point lead in the third quarter at Arizona State, before suffering a 41-30 defeat at the hands of the Sun Devils, who rallied for 24 points in the first. The collapse left Colorado in last place of the Pac-12 South with five losses in conference. … Colorado’s defense allowed 583 total yards of offense to Arizona State. … Running back Phillip Lindsay was held to 80 rushing yards on 23 carries, his second-lowest output of the season. Washington kept him to 68 yards in a late September loss. … Lindsay, who ran for a pair of touchdowns, is second in the conference in rushing with 1,334 yards, behind Stanford’s Bryce Love (1,456 rushing yards). … Colorado had two potential touchdown passes in the game dropped.
