What Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball had to say about his shoe line at ComplexCon
While he stayed relatively quiet during the “Sneaker of the Year,” panel at ComplexCon where sneakerheads like DJ Clark Kent, rapper Wale and others passionately debated the best sneaker of the year, Lakers Rookie and basketball star Lonzo Ball became the center of attention thanks to his own line of shoes.
At one point during the discussion, part of the hip-hop, fashion and culture festival the the Long Beach Convention Center, someone tossed a single ZO2 sneaker (Ball’s shoe from the Big Baller brand that has received a not-so-warm reception from sneaker fans) to the panel, who began tossing it around.
While holding the shoe, Kent complemented Ball on having his own shoe line and company while also letting him know what he thought of the actual shoe.
“This is a take-up of a Brandblack shoe, but it’s also a take down of a Kobe. The most important thing about this shoe is that it’s their own brand,” Kent said.
