Week 10 high school football preview capsules
ARLINGTON (8-1, 3-1) AT VALLEY VIEW (6-3, 3-1)
Game info: Second place in the Inland Valley League is the likely prize for the winner. Look for two of the Inland area’s leading rushers to be featured heavily in the game. Valley View’s Justin Keeling ranks third in the area with 2,039 rushing yards, and he has scored 25 touchdowns for the Eagles. Arlington’s Jamon McGlory is fifth in the area with 1,749 rushing yards, and he has scored 23 touchdowns for the Lions.
RUBIDOUX (5-4, 3-1) AT BANNING (5-4, 2-2)
Game info: Both teams will be looking to increase their playoff chances with a victory on Friday. Rubidoux can take sole possession of second place in the Mountain Valley League with a win, but a Banning victory likely would cause a three-way tied for second place. Rubidoux will be looking to bounce back from a 28-8 loss to Moreno Valley. Tyson Giles did rush for 145 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Banning’s fourth-quarter rally fell a bit short in last week’s 22-20 loss to Pacific.
HILLCREST (6-3, 2-2) AT NORTE VISTA (3-6, 3-1)
Game info: Norte Vista was stunned by Ramona last week, but the Braves still can secure at least a share of the River Valley League title with a victory. Chris Melesio continues to be the workhouse for Norte Vista, averaging 26 carries and 227 rushing yards per game. Hillcrest suffered a big blow a couple of weeks ago, when leading rushing Cordell LaBrie (961 yards, 11 TDs) went down with an injury. The Trojans used mostly reserves on the offensive side of the ball last week and still posted a 49-0 victory over Jurupa Valley.
PATRIOT (7-2, 3-1) AT RAMONA (5-4, 2-2)
Game info: Patriot can secure a share of the River Valley League with a win and would be outright champion […]
