Wanted person runs onto Tomas Rivera Middle School campus in Mead Valley, leads to lockdown
A person wanted on a felony warrant has been detained and arrested after running onto the campus of a Mead Valley middle school, forcing a temporary lockdown of two schools Wednesday, according to Riverside County sheriff’s and school authorities.

“Tomas Rivera Middle School and Manuel L. Real Elementary school have been placed on soft lockdown at this time,” read a Val Verde Unified School District Facebook post that went up just after 9 a.m. “Police K9 units are currently searching the Tomas Rivera Middle School campus for any evidence left behind by a suspect that was being pursued by police and ran onto campus. All children and staff are safe. More information to follow.”
It was not immediately clear what the fleeing person was wanted for.
