It was reported Tuesday that Jones tested positive for a substance prior to winning the UFC light heavyweight title from Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.

White stated during a press conference with the media that he has not spoken to Jones.

“If he ends up getting a two or three (year suspension) that could be the end of his career,” White said. “He will be 33 or 34 trying to come back again.”

White did speak to Jones’ opponent from UFC 214 and talked to him about the situation.

“(Comier) is on vacation with his family but he couldn’t believe it either,” White said. “(Cormier) felt the same way I did. Blown away.”

White stated that Jones has not officially been stripped of the title but believes the title should go back to Cormier if Jones was stripped.

“As far as I am concerned Cormier would be the champion,” White said. “The only guy he had ever lost to was Jon Jones. He is the champion if Jones isn’t.”
