Victim in fatal Hemet crash identified as Hemet resident

A driver who died at a hospital after he crashed into a pole at a Hemet gas station Sunday has been identified as a 68-year-old Hemet resident, according to a Riverside County Sheriff/Coroner’s news release.

Robert Ingram was injured at 11:44 p.m. Dec. 31, and was pronounced dead at Hemet Valley Medical Center at 12:14 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, according to the release.

Ingram was eastbound on Florida Avenue toward Lyon Avenue when he swerved, traveled into a gas station parking lot, then crashed into a pole, according to a Hemet police news release.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
