Victim in fatal assault last week identified as Moreno Valley woman

The victim in a fatal assault with a deadly weapon incident last week has been identified as a 24-year-old Moreno Valley woman, according to a Riverside County Sheriff/Coroner’s news release.
Latah Wilson suffered serious injuries in a 2:12 a.m. incident Friday, Feb. 9, in the 23200 block of Hemlock Avenue in Moreno Valley and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:45 a.m., according to the coroner’s report. An earlier sheriff’s report said the victim died at a hospital.

Sheriff’s deputies located the suspect vehicle within minutes and arrested Krystoffer Hicks, 26, of Moreno Valley, on suspicion of murder.
Hicks is due in court on Wednesday, Feb. 14, according to Robert Presley Detention Center jail records in Riverside. His bail is set at $1 million.
The neighborhood is a mix of commercial and multi-family residential dwellings north of the 60 Freeway and east of Pigeon Pass Road.
