Valley View strikes early in Inland Valley League win over Arlington

MORENO VALLEY — Valley View scored five times in the first half on Friday night, as it defeated Arlington 42-26 in the Inland Valley
Quarterback Jacob Barlage led the Eagles completing 10 of his 15 passes for 163 yards while rushing for 49 yards. Three of those completions resulted in touchdowns, while the junior also collected two rushing touchdowns.
Valley View (7-3, 4-1) will enter the CIF-SS playoffs next week riding a three-game win streak.

The drive set the tone for the Eagles in the first half as they went on to score four more times before the break. Barlage passed for three of those touchdowns, which included a pair of 40-yard touchdown passes to Robert Heiermann, and scored the fourth himself with a 15 yard run.
“I just remember going fast on that first drive,” Barlage said. “We knew that if we went fast we could catch them off guard.”
The lone highlight of the opening half for Arlington (8-2, 3-2) was an 80-yard rushing touchdown from Jamon McGlory.
Arlington scored three times in the second half but it would not be enough to overcome the deficit.
Justin Keeling led the Eagles rushing efforts with 22 carries for 107 yards, while Lovato rushed 17 times for 77 yards.
Heiermann caught five passes for 108 yards.
Arlington’s McGlory finished with an impressive 206 yards on 16 carries.
