Two lanes of the southbound 215 Freeway in Riverside were closed early Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 21, after a big rig caught fire and flames spread to the surrounding brush.

With the truck burning on the shoulder south of Martin Luther King Boulevard, the right two lanes were initially shut, the California Highway Patrol said. Flames were seen coming from the engine compartment before the fire spread to the entire truck.

The fire was reported at 11:54 a.m. An hour later, only the right lane remained closed.
