Tractor trailer fire in Cajon Pass snarls 15 Freeway traffic for miles

Wednesday morning commuters are still feeling the effects of a tractor trailer fire Tuesday night which shut down all but one lanes of the southbound 15 Freeway near the 215 Freeway interchange, according to Caltrans and California Highway Patrol officials.

Traffic was backed up just a few miles south of Oak Hill Road in the High Desert Wednesday, CHP and traffic reports indicate. No injuries were reported in the fire.

The truck fire was first reported around 9:30 p.m., the CHP website shows, and as of 5 a.m. Wednesday, crews were still working to reopen one additional lane of traffic.
