BEAUMONT — A motorist was injured Tuesday in a three-vehicle wreck that tied up traffic on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Beaumont.

The crash was reported at 12:20 p.m. on the eastbound 60, just east of Jack Rabbit Trail, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said a Riverside County sheriff’s K9 unit was the first to arrive at the scene and requested paramedics for a victim with a hand injury. That person did not require hospitalization.

Both lanes of the eastbound 60 were impacted by the crash, snarling traffic. One lane was open by 1 p.m., according to reports from the scene.

It was not immediately clear what caused the collision, which was under investigation.
