These 5 Inland Empire middle schools earned kudos from the state

Five Inland campuses are among 22 high-performing California middle schools recognized in the 2017–18 Schools to Watch-Taking Center Stage program.
Recognized were: Mountain View Middle School in Moreno Valley Unified School District, Indio Middle School in Desert Sands Unified School District, Golden Valley Middle School in San Bernardino City Unified School District, Vina Danks Middle School in Ontario-Montclair School District, and Sequoia Middle School, Fontana Unified School District.
The schools were selected for demonstrating academic excellence, social equity, and responsiveness to the needs of young adolescents, according to the California Department of Education. To earn the designation, schools had to complete an extensive application that was reviewed by middle grades experts. In order to retain the designation, each school is re-evaluated every three years.
