By Alex Groves
At least one Corona police officer fired at a suspect in Norco Saturday morning, July 29, and the Riverside County sheriff’s department was investigating the incident.
The incident began early Saturday morning around 2 a.m. when officers received a report of a man with a gun and an assault at an address in Corona, said Riverside County sheriff’s Deputy Mike Vasquez.
Those officers located a suspect vehicle in the assault and a pursuit began, Vasquez said.
The pursuit went into Norco and ended at the intersection of Parkridge Avenue and First Street, the same location where the sheriff’s department was investigating the officer involved shooting.
No officers were injured in the incident, Vasquez said.
There was no word on the suspect or that person’s condition Saturday morning.
In a tweet, sheriff’s officials advised people to avoid that area.
