Skechers USA, the athletic shoe manufacturer with a 1.8 million-square-foot distribution center in Moreno Valley, has leased a 366,700-square-foot warehouse/distribution building in the same city, Westcore Properties has announced.
The three-year lease at 22704 Newhope St. is valued at $5.57 million. A news release from Westcore said Skechers had reached capacity at its distribution center and the city assisted in securing the deal.
Westcore had purchased the recently constructed building in August for $30.71 million from The J.W. Mitchell Co. of Aliso Viejo and made cosmetic improvements since then.
The building has a 32-foot minimum clear height and 48 dock-high doors. Other features include 52 trailer parking spaces and a 180-foot secured truck court. Car charging stations, roof-mounted solar panels and drought-tolerant landscaping helped qualify the building for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating, Westcore said in a release.
