Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters quickly extinguished a fire that broke out in an Old Town Temecula hotel room early Saturday morning, fire officials said.

Crews were called to the Rodeway Inn in the 28000 block of Old Town Front Street for reports of a heavy smoke smell coming from one of the rooms.

Firefighters contained the fire to a few items inside one of the rooms and quickly put it out, according to a statement. They stayed at the business for about an hour to help remove the smoke from the room.

The cause of the fire was not released.
