Small brush fire breaks out in San Jacinto
By Brian Rokos
A small brush fire was burning in a field in San Jacinto on Thursday afternoon, June 15.
The first firefighters to arrive at the intersection of South Kirby and West 7th streets just before 2 p.m. reported 1 acre on fire with the potential for 3 acres to burn, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hageman said.
The flames were moving at a moderate rate, she said. No structures were threatened.
Firefighters asked that Kirby be shut down between 7th and Orchard Lane.
Cal Fire was assisted by firefighters from the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians and the Hemet Fire Department.
