Sidewalk projects on tap in Wildomar
Sidewalks would be built this summer in two sections of Wildomar if the City Council approves a pair of contracts worth more than $350,000 on Wednesday, June 14.
The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in Wildomar City Hall, 23873 Clinton Keith Road.
The city’s staff recommends that the council award a $131,769 contract to lowest bidder MGB Construction in Riverside to install 1,350 feet of sidewalks, pavement markings, signs and ramps accessible to the handicapped. The walkways would be built on three streets leading to William Collier Elementary School.
According to the staff, MGB also was the lowest bidder with an offer of $218,561 to build two sections of sidewalks near Elsinore High School. That project would result in a 1,200-foot paved path on Almond Street between Waite Street and Bundy Canyon Road and a 750-foot sidewalk on the north side of Bundy Canyon from Almond Street to Angels Lane.
The total budget for the projects, including preliminary engineering, management and inspections, is $601,200. Funding comes state grants and the city’s public works budget. Both projects are targeted for completion by mid-August.
