Sheriff’s officials were called to the roadway near Warren Road about noon on Wednesday for “unknown trouble,” according to a Riverside County sheriff’s news release.

Images from the scene show a vehicle on the side of the road with what appear to be bullet holes in the rear window.

Lopez and a male friend were found in the vehicle. Both were taken to the hospital, where they died.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-Central Homicide Unit and San Jacinto Station investigators are requesting the public’s assistance with any information on the fatal shooting. They are asked to call Investigator Gomez of the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit at 760-393-3527.
