San Pedro woman dies from August shooting in San Bernardino
A San Pedro woman who was shot in August in San Bernardino died recently from complications of the attack, San Bernardino police confirmed Thursday.
Samantha Briceyda, 27, was wounded along with another man during a car-to-car shooting Aug. 4 outside a motel near Sixth and G streets, officials said.
“She was transported to a long term care facility in L.A. and died on (Oct. 21) as a result of the shooting,” Lt. Mike Madden wrote in an email.
Madden was not immediately able to say whether anyone has been arrested for the shooting.
The victims were driving north on G Street just before 2 a.m. Aug. 4 when another vehicle pulled alongside them on the passenger’s side and opened fire. Briceyda — who was initially identified as “Briceyda Santamaria” by police — in the passenger seat and Sidney Treadway Jr., a 24-year-old San Bernardino resident who was driving, were both struck in the upper body.
Paramedics took the wounded pair to the hospital, where Treadway was stabilized but Briceyda was in critical condition, officials said at the time.
San Bernardino police were asking that anyone who may have information call Detective Donald Sawyer at 909-384-5630 or Sgt. Emil Kokesh at 909-384-5615.
