SAN CLEMENTE —A brush fire off the end of Avenida Pico had grown to 15 acres by 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5.

About 60 firefighters and two helicopters with the Orange County Fire Authority were on site working to contain the fire, which was expanding and within half a mile of nearby homes. No calls for evacuation had been issued as of 2:30.
