San Bernardino probationer arrested after deputies reportedly find loaded gun, ammunition
A San Bernardino man, on probation for felony gun possession, was taken into custody early Saturday after deputies reportedly found him with a loaded gun, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
Diangelo Marquice Sandy, 21, was noticed by deputies near Lynwood Drive and Ironwood Street in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino just before 4 a.m. on Saturday, a sheriff’s news release said. He was sitting on a curb. While checking to see if he needed assistance, deputies found a semi-automatic pistol holstered in the Sandy’s waistband. Deputies also found him with extra ammunition, the release said.
Sandy initially gave deputies a false name, but his identity was confirmed through fingerprints and he was taken into custody, officials said.
Sandy was arrested on suspicion of felony firearm possession and receiving known stolen property. He was booked at the Central Detention Center in Rialto with bail set at $100,000, according to jail records.
