Robbery suspect shot after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies pursue vehicle into Palmdale
PALMDALE — One of four robbery suspects was struck and wounded in a deputy-involved-shooting Wednesday night involving the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department at the end of a pursuit in Palmdale.
Deputies in Victorville located a vehicle tonight with four males inside, three of whom were believed to be armed, suspected of having just committed a robbery at a cellphone store, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.
The driver failed to stop and a chase ensued, ending in Palmdale in the area of 48th Street East and East Avenue R-8, where the suspects bailed, authorities said.
The shooting was reported around 8:05 p.m. in that area, said Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is assisting in the investigation.
One suspect was struck by the gunfire but there was no immediate word on his condition, Schrader said. The three other suspects were in custody, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.
Details about what led up to the shooting were not immediately available.
The public was advised to avoid the area for the investigation.
