TEMECULA>>Riverside police officers on a stakeout for a wanted parolee Friday afternoon at the Pechanga Resort & Casino got their man, but not before he fled — twice.

Police had been staking out the casino waiting for the fugitive to leave, said Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback.

As the parolee left on his motorcycle about 3 p.m., police tried to pull him over, Railsback said. But the motorcycle sped off and several police vehicles pursued him. At one point, the fugitive made an abrupt U-turn, and began heading at pursuing police.

His motorcycle lightly clipped one of the police vehicles, causing it to become unstable, Railsback said.

The fugitive jumped off the motorbike and starting running on foot, Railsback said. He was apprehended after a brief chase.

The parolee was taken to a hospital prior to being booked into jail, Railsback said.

No other details were available.
