Riverside’s La Sierra University to host classical music festival

Local classical music aficionados are in for a treat.
For the third year, La Sierra University in Riverside is hosting the Montecito International Music Festival. The university promises performances by world-renowned classical musicians and top music students from near and far.
There will be free concerts throughout the three-week festival, which begins Tuesday, July 18.
One will feature Grammy Award-winning cellist Lynn Harrell, who will perform at 7:30 p.m. July 27 at La Sierra’s Hole Memorial Auditorium.
Renowned violinists Andrés Cárdenes and Glenn Dicterow will take the stage on Aug. 2 for another free concert. That show is also set for 7:30 p.m. at Hole Memorial Auditorium
The Montecito International Music Festival is an educational program for string, piano, wind and vocal students, with professional musicians serving as their teachers.
