A farewell reception for two-term Riverside councilman Paul Davis, who lost his seat June 6 to challenger Chuck Conder, is set for Tuesday, July 11.

The event will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Grier Pavilion at Riverside City Hall, 3900 Main St.

Former Riverside city councilman Paul Davis will be recognized at a Tuesday, July 11, reception.

Davis was elected in 2009, when he defeated City Councilman Frank Schiavone for the Ward 4 seat . He was re-elected in 2013 in an uncontested race.

City spokesman Phil Pitchford said the reception will be set up by city employees. Catering costs will be about $590, which is being paid by the city’s general fund, he said.

The gesture is City Manager John Russo’s way of recognizing Davis’s eight years of service on the council, Pitchford said.
