Riverside firefighters encounter pack rat conditions at fire scene

Riverside firefighters encountered pack rat conditions when they responded to a structure fire at a home in the 3800 block of Roblynn Street at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, according to a city fire news release.
The fire was in the attic of the vacant house. Firefighters had to cut an entry point in a wall to get inside to fight the fire and to access the room the fire originated in, according to the release. The fire cause is under investigation.
The loss is estimated at $50,000. The fire was controlled by 3 p.m., according to the news release. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
