Rialto firefighters have stopped the spread of a small brush fire that started in a drainage along the 10 Freeway, but smoke is still visible along the freeway, according to a tweet from the Rialto Fire Department.

The vegetation fire was reported about 4:35 p.m. near Valley Boulevard between Alameda and Spruce avenues, fire officials tweeted. It burned less than 1 acre.

Firefighters were expected to remain on scene for mop-up and investigation of the cause of the fire.
