A longtime Jurupa Valley resident and retired educator has joined the Jurupa Community Services District board.

Betty Folsom, who once worked for the Riverside County Office of Education, has lived in the Indian Hills area of Jurupa Valley since 1971. She was appointed unanimously to the district’s vacant Division 3 board seat Nov. 22.

Folsom replaces Joan Roberts, who resigned, and will serve the rest of her term though November 2018. Folsom is the club administrator for the local Rotary Club chapter and has been on several educational committees. She also served on the Jurupa Unified School District board.
