Reign score three in second period to defeat Tuscan Roadrunners 6-3

The Ontario Reign took a 6-3 victory over the Tucson Roadrunners at the Tucson Convention Center on Saturday night.
The Reign’s Michael Mersch opened the scoring at 4:57 into the game with assists from Jordan Subban and Brett Sutter.
After Tucson’s Dylan Strome answered back for the Roadrunners, Ontario’s Paul LaDue scored an unassisted goal with 10 seconds into the second period.
Brett Sutter, who passed the 300 career AHL point mark, followed with a goal at 8:13 to retake the lead for the Reign (16-14). He was assisted by Matt Roy and Matt Luff.
Tucson decreased the lead to one with a Tyler Gaudet goal 8:45 into the second period. However, the Reign’s Mike Amadio made it 4-2 with assists from Michael Mersch and Matt Moulson at 11:05 to close out the second.
Ontario’s Justin Auger opened the third period with a score at 10:08. He was assisted by Andrew Cresenzi and Stephan Falkovsky.
With 13:40 in the third period, Nick Merkley scored the Tucson’s final goal of the night.
Sam Herr closed the game with an unassisted goal at 19:36.
Reign goalie Jack Campbell (9-7-2) made 30 saves.
