Reign opens season with loss to San Antonio Rampage

The Ontario Reign opened the regular season with a 2-1 loss to the San Antonio Rampage in an American Hockey League game Saturday at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
San Antonio’s Samuel Blais gave the Rampage the early 1-0 lead with assists from Rocco Grimaldi and Andrew Agozzino.
Jordan Schmaltz added a goal at 2:17 of the second period to make it a 2-0 Rampage lead.
Michael Mersch answered back for the Reign with an unassisted goal off a steal from San Antonio at 13:23.
Goalkeeper Jack Campbell had 30 saves off the Rampage’s 32 goals attempted.
