Ramona High pianist wins scholarship, will perform at Riverside County Fair
Oftentimes it takes up to a decade of practice to master a craft, but some people display talent even after a few short years of practice.
Such is the case with Ramona High student and pianist Daniel Molina, who on Nov. 19, won $1,500 in the Magic Carpet Music Scholarship Competition and will perform at the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival in February.
There were three categories in the competition: vocal, instrumental, and composition — Daniel won in the instrumental category. The 17-year-old has only been playing the piano for two years and doesn’t have a background in music.
