Public’s help sought after woman’s body found in Yucca Valley

Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a woman’s body was found in a dirt field in Yucca Valley last week, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.

The body was found after deputies and fire personnel responded to a report of an unresponsive female in the 55000 block of Santa Fe Trail at 9:40 a.m., according to a sheriff’s news release.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, the release said.

Sheriff’s detectives are trying to determine the circumstances around the death and are hoping to learn more with the public’s assistance, according to the release.
