Probation check in Cabazon nets drugs, firearms arrest

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies confiscated about one pound of suspected methamphetamine, a handgun and a shotgun when they made a probation compliance check on Duane Ford, 55, on Tuesday, Nov. 14, according to a sheriff’s news release.
The check was made at a residence in the 49000 block of Blanche Avenue in Cabazon. The narcotics were valued at about $3,500 and several items of stolen property were seized.
Ford was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of firearms while in possession of controlled substances and a violation of probation. He remains in custody at the Larry B. Smith Correctional Facility near Banning, according to jail records.
The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force assisted deputies.
