POMONA >> A two-day vice operation focused on what police call the “Holt Corridor” ended Friday with 12 arrests, Pomona Police announced Friday evening.

Six were arrested for prostitution, five were arrested for loitering to commit prostitution and one was arrested for returning to the Holt Corridor after being served with a court order to stay away, a police statement said.

The “Holt Corridor” encompasses a major thoroughfare, Holt Avenue, in Pomona and it is nationally known as an area where individuals can negotiate sexual acts for money, the department said.

The department said in the statement that it takes “a zero-tolerance approach to human trafficking and sexual exploitation.”

The Thursday and Friday vice-crackdown was viewed as a success and similar operations are scheduled in the future, the statement said.
