Perris man shot, killed in the middle of the street in Compton is identified

A Perris man who was shot and killed in Compton after an argument on Sunday has been identified.

The shooting was reported at 6:06 p.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Lantana Street, said Deputy Kelvin Moody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Deanthony Wills, 28, of Perris, died at a hospital, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

“Deputies learned that the victim was arguing with (a) suspect in the middle of the street when the suspect began to shoot the victim,” Moody said.

The suspect fled in a white sedan.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on the crime to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.
