Los Angeles Foootball Club announced the signing of free agent midfielder Jordan Harvey on Tuesday.

Harvey, 33, is originally from Mission Viejo and attended Capistrano Valley High and UCLA. He has spent 13 years in Major League Soccer, with stints with the Vancouver Whitecaps, Philadelphia Union and Colorado Rapids.

Last year, he made 28 starts with Vancouver and played 2,509 total minutes.

“He has established himself in MLS, and his knowledge of the league is going to be invaluable to us as we build our club,” LAFC coach Bob Bradley said. “I look forward to his leadership and the stability he provides both on and off the pitch.”

To be eligible for free agency, players in MLS have to be at least 28 years during the 2017 season with at least eight years of MLS service.

With the Harvey signing, LAFC’s roster is now at 10. Harvey joins Carlos Vela, Diego Rossi, Omar Gaber, Walker Zimmerman, Laurent Ciman, Tyler Miller, Latif Blessing, Marco Ureña and Rodrigo Pacheco.
