Ontario’s Ladue scores late to cut lead, but Reign fall 4-3 to Tucson Roadrunners

The Ontario Reign fell to the Tucson Roadrunners 4-3 at the Tucson Convention Center.

Tucson took the lead with a Nick Merkley goal 4:07 into the game.

Ontario’s Matt Moulson scored at 6:53 with assists from Mike Amdio and Austin Wagner to tie the game. Justin Auger’s unassisted goal came in at 16:28 to give the Reign the 2-1 lead.

With just a second remaining in the second period, Tucson’s Dylan Strome tied the game. The Roadrunners took a 4-2 lead in the third with goals from Ryan Maclnnis and Tye McGinn.

Paul LaDue closed the game with his goal at 19:16 with assists from Andrew Crescenzi and Philippe Maillet.

Goalie Cal Peterson made 31 saves for Ontario (15-14).
