Ontario warehouse workers end strike against warehouse
Workers have ended a strike at an Ontario food services distribution center that supplies movie theaters with snacks, according to representatives of Teamsters Local 630.
Vistar Southern California’s customers include Regal Cinemas, Edwards Theatres, and AMC Theatres, according to a news release from the Teamsters.
Workers voted to join the local in 2015.
Eighty-four workers, including warehouse workers and 23 drivers, participated in the strike, spokesman Oscar Ruiz said in a phone interview.
Workers’ issues are wages and pay inequality for women, according to Ruiz.
Vistar is a division of the Performance Food Group. Its products include candy, munchies, fresh foods, beverages, food equipment and utensils.
The warehouse is between Ontario International Airport and the 15 Freeway.
Spokesmen for the company could not be reached at press time.
