Ontario Reign falls to Bakersfield in overtime

Sean Walker scored a goal and made an assist in the Ontario Reign’s 6-5 overtime loss to the Bakersfield Condors at the Citizens Business Bank Arena on Saturday.

Bakersfield took an early 2-0 lead in the first 5:19 of the game, with Walker putting Ontario on the board at 6:40. Austin Wagner’s unassisted goal tied the game less than two minutes later.

Matt Luff gave the Reign its first lead just 4:03 into the second. T.J. Hensick and Alex Lintuniemi each made an assist. Josh Currie scored twice to take back the Bakersfield lead, 4-3.

Walker assisted Matt Moulson at the 3:35 mark to tie the game again. Following Joey LaLeggia’s goal for the Condors, Philippe Maillet scored with 35 seconds left to give Ontario a fighting chance. The Condors scored just 4:44 into overtime to seal the win.

Jack Campbell made 11 saves for Ontario (23-18) while Cal Petersen made 15.
