ONTARIO >> Passenger and cargo volumes posted for November at Ontario International Airport show the inland facility continues its steady month-over-month increases.
The total number of passengers who traveled in and out of ONT last month rose to more than 410,000, an increase of 8.5 percent over November 2016.
For the first 11 months of the year, ONT welcomed 4.1 million customers, which is a 6.8 percent improvement compared to the same period in 2016.
Air cargo including freight and mail shipments also showed significant gains.
More than 61,000 tons were moved in November, 20.8 percent higher than the same month in 2016. From January through November this year, cargo volume exceeded 582,000 tons, an increase of 15.5 percent over the same period last year, the airport stated.
“The confidence index continues to rise month-over-month, driving our determination to create a world-class gateway at ONT,” said Mark Thorpe, CEO of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in a statement. “Our customers are showing their preference for our airport and services by coming back in greater numbers, helping to transform ONT into a popular destination and hub for business in Southern California.”
