One-way traffic planned near Lake Elsinore for brine line construction

Motorists may see delays this week along Temescal Canyon Road in the vicinity of the 15 Freeway from continuing work on a pipeline that transports salty water generated by Inland industry to the ocean.
Crews are moving from pipe replacement to post-installation tasks such as pressure testing, repaving and disassembling a temporary above-ground bypass line, according to project representatives. The project is being directed by the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority.
Work is scheduled daily for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Lawson Road south of the Temescal Canyon/15 interchange and Dawson Canyon Road to the north, a project update states. Some one-way travel, with alternating traffic flow, is expected around Dawson Canyon Road.
The authority is testing, fortifying and replacing 5 miles of the underground line that carries salty water from power plants, manufacturers and groundwater desalination plants away from the area. The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2018.
