One injured when vehicle collides with garage in Temecula and sparks a fire

One person sustained moderate injuries when a vehicle collided with the garage of a two-story home in the 42000 block of Humber Drive in Temecula at 11:17 a.m. Monday, July 10, according to a CalFire/Riverside County Fire Department news release.

The collision on the curving street northwest of Margarita and Rancho California roads triggered a fire that was contained in less than 20 minutes.

The fire caused an estimated $40,000 loss to the home.

The victim was taken to an area hospital. The fire news release did not address whether the injured person was in the car or at the residence.
