O’Brien lifts AC Clippers to win over Lakeland Magic

JJ O’Brien led the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario with 26 points in their 121-110 victory over the Lakeland Magic in an NBA G League game Saturday at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Fla.
O’Brien, a forward from San Diego State, went 10 for 16 from the field and 6 for 7 from the free-throw line. He added five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block.
Forward LaDontae Henton followed with 25 points and six rebounds. Henton went 3 for 7 from beyond the arc.
The Clippers outshot Lakeland 43-37 from the field and shot 42 percent from the 3-point range to help them get the victory. They also picked up 30 defensive rebounds compared to the Magic’s 23.
Agua Caliente is 17-18, in fourth place in the Pacific Division.
Forward DeAndre Daniels contributed 16 points and three rebounds. Meanwhile, Tyler Roberson had 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Lakeland (16-16) was led by Rodney Purvis with 27 points off 5-for-11 on 3-point shots.
