November 2017 festivals and events in Southern California

Whether you want to take a trip to downtown Riverside for the Festival of Lights or celebrate Dia de Los Muertos, these are the big events happening in Southern California in November 2017.

Art San Diego

Set in San Diego’s scenic Balboa Park, the annual art fest showcases works from dozens of emerging and established artists, drawing more than 15,000 art lovers and collectors during its four-day run.

When: Nov. 2-5

Where: Balboa Park Activity Center, 2145 Park Blvd., San Diego


Riverside Day of the Dead

The 14th annual free event is sponsored by Division 9 Gallery & Ballet Folklórico de Riverside. It will include food, music, dance and decorated altars.

When: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4.

Where: Downtown Riverside


Redlands Dia de los Muertos celebration

The eighth annual event will include artists, musicians, storytellers, dancers and food. Children can enjoy a traditional piñata.

Where: Olive Avenue Market, 530 W. Olive Ave., Redlands

When: Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4


San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival

One of the largest wine and food festivals in the nation celebrates its 14th anniversary with selections from 150 wineries, breweries and purveyors of spirits, along with 60 of San Diego’s top restaurants. Cooking classes, tasting events and celebrity chef dinners also are on the menu.

Festival of Lights

The historic Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is decorated for the holidays with more than 4 million LED lights and 400-plus animated angels, elves and other characters.
