Authorities have placed Norco High School on lockdown Thursday morning as Riverside County sheriff’s deputies search for a burglar in the area, according to authorities.

“We got a report of a burglary to a business at about 4 a.m. within the 100 block of Hidden Valley Parkway,” wrote Deputy Michael Vasquez in an email.

Investigators learned the burglar or burglars may have been in the area of the school and placed the school on lockdown as a precaution, he said.

“No one is on campus, no threat to kids or staff,” Vasquez said.

The emergency message from the city alerting residents to the lockdown was sent out just after 8:30 a.m.

The high school is at 2065 Temescal Ave.
